In early April, pupils from Westhoughton High School came for a visit and gave us a number of birdboxes – hopefully they’ll be in use very soon! You can read about it in their school magazine – just click on the photo.
We recently won a civic award for improving the environment. Pictured is the mayor presenting the award to Steve Freeborn and Jim Orrell, who accepted the award on behalf of the group. 6/2/16
We also took the opportunity to present Norma Jones with some flowers – Norma won the competition to name our 2 stationmasters. Her winning suggestion was Westy and Lofty – come down and have a look at their new nameplates!. Also pictured (left) is Mike Lloyd, who made the stationmasters.
We won an award for improving the environment! Westhoughton Mayor, Lynda Winrow-Baker, presented the team with a certificate of achievement on Sunday 6th December 2015. A very proud moment that even the rain failed to dampen!
